- At Sphinx International School, students study core subjects: Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, Modern Foreign Language, Arts, and Physical Education. In High School, the students are provided with a variety of electives in humanities and business studies. The Egyptian Ministry of Education mandates the Arabic Language, Religious Studies, and Egyptian Social Studies curricula. For the Language Arts and Math, the school follows the Common Core Standards; for the sciences we follow the NGSS standards.
- The curriculum for PreK-11 focuses on inquiry-based learning; the Elementary and Middle Schools use standards-based grading and reporting. K-3 students are formatively evaluated; however, students in Grades 4-11 demonstrate their learning through tests, written assignments, oral presentations, projects, demonstrations, and discussions. Students in grades 1-8 sit for their MAP Tests (Measures of Academic Progress) testing. High school students sit for their ACT/SAT.
- As the school believes in Less Schooling is More Education, an integral part of students’ school life is being exposed to areas of their interests such as Journalism, Photography, MUN, Performing Arts, Folklore Dancing, and Music. Accordingly, the school day is divided between the core subjects and the electives mentioned.
